And I love your "beach" socks -- the colours are my favorites :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16220522410027771596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11431157.post-13053649461869201302007-09-28T07:22:00.000-05:002007-09-28T07:22:00.000-05:00I have to admit, I am more of a wheel person than ...I have to admit, I am more of a wheel person than a spindle person. Sometimes though it is the spindle.....if you go to Rhinebeck try out a few different spindles. What works really well for one person does not always work well for another.

They sure are pretty though, aren't they?Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07754884964048802833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11431157.post-67242735186907713192007-09-27T06:19:00.000-05:002007-09-27T06:19:00.000-05:00Your experience with the spindle sounds just like ...Your experience with the spindle sounds just like mine. I gave it a shot and couldn't believe that there are people who actually prefer a spindle. I thought it was awkward myself. But your yarn is looking fabulous these days. Don't beat yourself up if you decide that spindle spinning is for the birds ;o)Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00182631145884215808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11431157.post-63386544159973908482007-09-27T05:20:00.000-05:002007-09-27T05:20:00.000-05:00Tracy: Wow - it looks great. I have a hadspindle, too, but I almost never use it, either. The wheel just produces better results for me - and faster. I was reading the Spinlist recently and in talking about spindles they said that if that happened, you were trying to spin too thick a single. I don't know if that was your problem or not, but thought I'd throw it out there. It is a beautiful spindle, the whorl is just magnificent.

Your wheel spinning looks beautiful as well!Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01551372986526581604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11431157.post-70552692988988899252007-09-26T07:04:00.000-05:002007-09-26T07:04:00.000-05:00Ha, ha...away from the wheel might be the best way...Ha, ha...away from the wheel might be the best way;-)
It takes a bit of practice to learn to hand spindle. It's fun to do when you're away from home as it's so portable. If you want to learn, you'll figure it out.
The wheel spun yarn is gorgeous!!margenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00203284423648703855noreply@blogger.com
