We were in Palacios, Texas on Saturday to watch Needville High School perform their play for the UIL One Act Play Competition. Palacios is a small town on Matagorda Bay about an 1 1/2 hours from my house. The Texas Hill Country is famous for it's fields of wildflowers this time of year. Though this is not the Hill County, we were able to find a few flowers in bloom.
The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas and one of my favorites.
By the way, Needville's performance of The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail was awesome! Of course, I could be biased since my son is in the play, but the judge agreed too and advanced it to the next competition. Congratulations to the cast and crew!
Gorgeous pictures.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son on the performance. Speech and drama competitions were a major part of my life in high school. The skills I learned through them have served me well in life as they surely will for him.
Well that's a swell looking bunch there! I am now officially homesick for Texas. Can I use your bluebonnet photo for my desktop? Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I will be home in Temple to see the fields of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbushes in bloom. I usually get a packet of seeds to plant where ever I live. It's a hoot to see Bluebonnets in PA, CA and VA. You should see my Texas shrine wall!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! Congrats to your son! : )
ReplyDeletecongrats gang! and i love the bluebonnets that are popping up around here... the indian paintbrush looks so pretty on the drive from sugar land to katy on hwy 99..
ReplyDeleteBluebonnets! Oh...the memories! My parents have some great pictures of me as a little kid, sitting in the middle of a field of bluebonnets in Irving (or that general area). How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou sound a very proud Texan and of course a very proud mum. Beautiful pictures, the flowers are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son and his buds! Bluebonnet pic is sooo pretty! I LOVE Texas!!!
