I'm married to a fisherman.
He would fish every day if he could.
Fishing makes him happy.
Hand knit socks make him happy too.
Perhaps this pair will become his "lucky" fishing socks. However, I've been told luck has little to do with it.
JOHN'S GREEN SOCKS FOR THE GREEN SOCK KNITALONG

By the way, I just took a count of all the socks I've made since I learned to knit and this is pair number 12.
Nice socks. Dan has wanted to learn how to fly fish forever. I had him all set up to take a weekend class when we were at Ft. Campbell, KY but then he deployed. It's my first order of business when we get to NY. There has to be some great fly fishing up that way.
ReplyDeleteYay for a dozen! They look like fabulous socks. Smith would love a pair, too. You DH does look very happy with a pole and fish in hand;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the socks. Seeing your manly socks only makes me more determined to make hubby a pair of socks. He wears cowboy boots so I will have to make them boot socks. Green is my favorite color so you know the Green Sock Knit Along is right up my alley! I am hoping to catch up with your 12 pairs of socks. Tonight is my last sock class so hopefully I will have a finished pair to show soon; green of course!
ReplyDeleteGreat manly socks. Love the pic with the fish! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and good work on the socks too. You forgot to mention Night Fishing!
ReplyDeleteI love my Green Socks almost as much as my felted hat!
ReplyDeleteI'll start looking for another knitalong project... maybe a fishing vest.....

You know, I've always enjoyed fishing, too! It really is a lot of fun. In the summer, the kids and I often grab our gear and go sit by the river or lake and fish. We never catch anything we can take home, but that's okay. They like it - even when they only catch little 4-inch babies! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the fishing pictures. heh John looks VERY happy. :)
ReplyDeleteThe spinning is looking GREAT! How cool that the lady gifted you the rovings! Is it very soft wool?
Always nice to have a hubby with a hobby. I'm sure those lovely socks will help enhance his fishing experience.
ReplyDeleteI loved your post.... I too am married to a fisherman. I am so happy he has a hobby he enjoys.
