Sand and Socks

Ladies, when your husband calls from work and asks you if you want to go to the beach, the answer is always yes. Stop what you're doing, gather up a few things and be ready to go when he gets home.

Bring some shade.

And don't forget the knitting. You'll need something to do while he fishes.

Search for the perfect shell.

Enjoy the scenery.

Make friends with the beach creatures.

You never know when one of them will want to help you knit.

Stay until the sun sinks behind the dunes.

Then thank God for a husband that keeps life fun.

Oh my. I think I'd be happy to take the 2-day drive to Galveston from MN to have a day like that...

  4. The rest of the story is that I'm getting ready to be out of town for the next two days...

And this time I'm going alone.

I figured a quick trip to the beach was the least I could do.

  8. We live nearly two hours from the beach, so we don't have too many impromptu trips there, but we're about to visit my parents who live about ten minutes from a wonderful beach. I think we'll be making quite a few fun trips to sit in the sand, AND I will bring my knitting!

You've got a great husband, it sounds like.

What a gorgeous day ~ thanks for letting us share in it with you. I love the beach (though living in Wisconsin … sigh …ha)! I can’t think of a better way of sharing a day with the love of your life.

  11. Oh, how I envy anyone who lives close enough to spend a day at the beach. Between that and your dh, you sound blessed! :-)
