A simple sock is often the best choice for self-patterning yarn. So that's what I chose for my last skein of Online Supersocke 100 in Summer Color 793.
This sock flew off my needles! I started it on Friday and finished it on Sunday.
It was the perfect project to knit while watching baseball on TV this weekend. And, it perhaps brought my team luck.
Superstitious baseball fans would say that since I was knitting this sock and my team won every game that I will have to keep doing this or risk jinxing the team.
Never fear, I will keep knitting. Though I wonder if it will tempt fate to start a new project instead of continuing on to the second sock?
I'm about to find out.
Wow, you did those so quickly! I would to be able to knit a pair in one weekend. I am not that fast but I keep trying!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I don't think it would be a risk to the team. Their winning streak probably has more to do with the short stops lucky socks (hasn't washed them in 3 yrs) or the left fielder's lucky nickle that is in his right shoe at all times. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, oh...second sock syndrome could be bad luck!
ReplyDeleteI like that colorway! It must have been the weekend for socks. Don't jinx your team with second sock syndrome.
ReplyDeleteI love that sock yarn. It's a gorgeous sock! I spent the free hours I was able to snatch this weekend, knitting a basic sock outdoors. That's living! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow! it looks super! I really like the self striping yarn!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! I just have to come out of lurkdom to tell you so.
ReplyDeleteIs it the sock yarn, needles, pattern or all three that make up the good luck for your team hummmmmmm something to think about. Maybe I should knit up a sock for my favorite basketball team. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great sock! The yarn is ever so colorful. Is it a cotton yarn or wool yarn? The colors sure look like summer!
ReplyDeleteLive dangerously! Start another project BEFORE your second sock! Love those colors.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really great colorway. I can't really call myself a baseball fan but as dh and the 3 boys are, I've found being able to knit during ball games a big help! ; )
ReplyDeleteNow if only the Cubs would do a Stitch n Pitch!
Oh those socks are just speak Summer. Funny that - since we pretty much don't wear socks in the summer. Love all the colors in these socks and in the baby hats on your last post. Fresh and happy! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying reading blogs by today's knitters (I'm a yesteryear knitter. LOL). And I have a yen to knit a pair of socks. But my question is this...do you wear these as "slippers" or do you actually wear them with shoes/boots? My preference would be to keep them in their pristine condition forever..no holes in the heels, no frazzling of the yarn. Are today's yarns more durable? Maybe I'll have to make scarves instead. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun colorway - fresh and just enough sunshine!
