This hymn is one of my favorites:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
It reminds me to give God thanks for the blessings of life. As we sang this beautiful song on Sunday, I thought back to the blessings of the day before.
Thank you, God for a loving husband who enjoys spending time with me so much that he taught me to fish so we could spend even more time together.
Thank you, God for the beauty of the early morning.
For the way the light is soft and warm.
For revealing your power and divine nature in what you have made.
Thank you for all blessings, both great and small.
Help me to never take any of them for granted.
THANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER AND THE PICTURES. SOMETIMES WE GET CAUGHT UP IN ASKING FOR THINGS WE FORGET TO ASK THANK GOD FOR WHAT WE HAVE.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteAmen. There is such peace in opening our eyes to the continual blesssings he lavishes on us.
ReplyDeleteGod is indeed generous and merciful, and I'm also counting my blessings.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your blessings and helping us remember to thank God for ours too. And thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteGod is so good! All the time!

ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful!
That was lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, Tracy! I love the Doxology hymn. Often when I'm out walking my little dog late at night, I'll look up at the stars and want to sing out praises to God. My memory's not great for the words of many of them, but I can always count on remembering the words to that one, and I'll sing it out to the Lord as I walk.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures were beautiful!
What wonderful pictures, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorites as well. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful. Your pictures are beautiful...so different from what things look like here in my area.
ReplyDeleteAnd the people say AMEN!
ReplyDeleteThat is truly one of my favorite hymns of all time. Your post is a beautiful reminder of things that are important.
Sigh! Thanks for letting us remember to count our blessings. Let us never forget how nice it is to have someone who wants to spend time with us. That's why we keep coming back to see you!
ReplyDeleteHow can we not be grateful, when we are so blessed by our loving Father?
ReplyDeleteA blessing just to be able to read and see these images here...Thank you. :o) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! how big is that shell? John's socks turned out beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your picture of the landscape around you. Thank you for them.
ReplyDeleteAnd she spake truth with beauty and peace...
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, we sang this praise every Sunday. It's still a favorite...if I am down in the dumps, singing this always raises my spirit.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteI love that hymn also! Just right for Thanksgiving! When I was a child
ReplyDeletewe called that song "Doxology".
My childhood church sang that while the deacons passed the plate. Now
churches around here have gone contemporary and don't select the old hymns as much.
