Winter Wonderland

To say Utah is beautiful is an understatement at best.

We arrived on Monday and are staying at Homestead Resort in Midway. There's been lots of snow here this winter, judging from the accumulation. You know it's bad when you have to shovel the roof.

Even though it's freezing, it too beautiful to stay indoors. So bundled up in my warmest wool handknits, I ventured out this morning to take pictures and experience the magical Winter Wonderland.

If I lived here, I would knit lots of sweaters and fewer frivolous knits.

And of course, always have a pair of warm wool socks on the needles.

Started on the flight over, using Trekking XXL in a gorgeous deep blue (#77).

  1. Gorgeous photos, it's so beautiful there. Dale says that looks like a mule deer. Is it?

  3. Very beautiful!

I miss seeing wildlife. When I was a child we lived in the country and there was a family of deer that would come right up to our back deck.

I haven't seen a sight like that it an very long time!

How do you like the Trekking XXL, that is one of the things carried at my LYS....but I have very little experience with any type of "skinny" yarn (ie...something suitable for socks...not bulky ones :-)

Yeah, yeah, yeah...that's the stuff I get to see 5-6 months of every year. It's not pretty to me any more, but I DO like your photos! You have such talent! You can enjoy the snow because soon you can turn around and get warm again at home. Have fun!

  9. I swear, as soon as I got done reading your posting about the snow, I got up to let the dogs out and looked out the window and it was snowing here at the beach. It was only flurries and for about 30 minutes, but boy was that weird! The snow looks really wonderful! Have a great time!
